Editorial standards
Clear explanations. Traceable evidence. Honest limits.
How an article is prepared
- Research relevant primary and authoritative sources.
- Create an original English explanation for a defined audience.
- Check source access and evidence before saving new automated drafts.
- Keep drafts private for a qualified specialist to review.
- Record the reviewer and review date before editorial publication.
AI and human review
AI helps research and write articles. Automated evidence checks are not a substitute for clinical expertise. An article is labelled specialist-reviewed only after a designated reviewer records approval. Substantive edits invalidate that approval and require review again.
If the publisher later enables automatic publication, those articles will carry a clear unreviewed label. The current publishing policy keeps new articles private until approved.
Sources and uncertainty
We prioritise health agencies, professional guidance, curated genetics resources and original research. Each genetics article includes at least two specific references. We explain important limitations, avoid copying source text, and distinguish research findings from established care.
Corrections
Use our contact form to report an error, broken reference or concern. Include the article title or link and relevant evidence. Reviewed articles show their latest update date.
Scope
This website offers general education. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend treatment for an individual, interpret personal genetic results or provide emergency care. Discuss personal decisions with a qualified health professional.
Source headlines & connected reading
Our news desk links to dated source headlines from research indexes and public institutions. These listings are automatically refreshed and are separate from our own articles. A listing is not a clinical recommendation. Original references remain external even when we link to a related explanation within our library.
Article links appear publicly only when their destinations are published. Companion articles follow the same source checks, image requirements and review workflow. Homepage illustrations are AI-generated editorial scenes, not photographs of real patients or specific study results.
